Definition of parts of speech: When words are classified according to what work they do as small parts of a whole sentence, they are called parts of speech.

Noun
Definition of Noun: A noun is the name of anything that means any human, object, place or action.
For example shown in table:

Pronoun
Definition of Pronoun: A pronoun is a word which is used in a sentence in place of noun.

Some examples of pronouns: they, you, we, our, us, mine, ours, your, yours, him, her, hers, it, its, them, their, theirs, this, that, these, who, what, which, etc. are called pronoun.
Adjective
Definition of adjective: An adjective is a word that/which qualifies noun or pronoun in a sentence. For example:
- Rahim is a good boy.
- She is a beautiful girl.
- Jesmin wears a blue shirt.
Note: In above sentences, the bold mark words are adjectives, because these all modify the nouns like boy, girl and shirt.
Some examples of adjectives: fine, hard, ugly, naughty, rich, little, small, a, two, much, first, second etc. are adjectives.
Verb
Definition of Verb: A verb is a word that expresses some action.
For example:
- He runs fast.
- He loves me.
- He eats rice.

Some more examples of verbs: do, run, go, be, have, come, love, take, give, think, dance, sell, jump, see, tell etc. are verbs.
Adverb
Definition of adverb: An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb in a sentence.

Preposition

Conjunction
Definition of conjunction: A conjunction is a word which is used to join two or more sentences in a large sentence.

Interjection
Definition of Interjection: An interjection is a word which expresses some sudden emotion or strong feeling of human mind.
For example:
